Question Investing in commodities?

Hi everyone. My apologies in advance if this is not the right place to pose this question, but I wasn't sure where else to try.

I have been wanting for some time to invest in global commodities via a unit trust or PIE but have had little luck in New Zealand. There are a couple in NZ available but they are out of my price range. I am only a limited investor and had hoped to find one that I could invest $1000 initially and then make monthly contributions of $100. However, I have not been able to find anything in New Zealand like this? The Tower Global Resources fund has an initial investment of $100,000! The was also a JB Were option but initial investment was $5000 and $200 and month. Raboplus offer $250 initial investment but then your monthly are $250 a month. Because I have outgoing monthly investments to other areas I just cannot afford this.

I had hoped to get into an Australian one but I tried Colonial Mutual and they do not allow NZ residents to invest in that fund.

I was hoping that someone either might know of a fund I could invest in for commodities or be able to point me in the right direction?

Any help greatly appreciated and my apologies again if this is the wrong medium to use.

Kind Regards
Jason.

Talking I found a solution to my problem

Hi everyone,

just in case people were having any thoughts about this I just thought I would let you know I have found a solution.

On chatting to Raboplus some more it appears that it is $250 intially and then you can make $250 minimum contributions after that BUT they do not have to be monthly. This means I can make a payment every 2 months (equalling $125 a month) and have access to a large unit trust focusing on commodities. I'm wrapped. Thanks anyway guys for taking the time to read my initial question.

Kind Regards
Jason.

Davinci, have you checked what they are investing in?
Futures?
ETF's?
What percentages of what comodities make up their portfolio?
